- Christmas Long Weekend: 23rd / 24th / 25th / 26th of December
- New Years Eve Long Weekend: 29th (Friday Kids Class ) / 30th / 31st of Decmeber & 1st January

Congratulations Adam Obrien - MMA Submission Victory

Well done to Adam Obrien who won his Professional MMA fight on the KOTC last Friday at Penrith Panthers. His record moving to 6-0 Adam added a submission win with
a choke to his previous 5 KO victories. Congrats to Adam and his other trainers also including cornerman Dave Frendin.

| Congratulations Brendon Campbell - New Purple Belt

Huge congratulations to Brendon Campbell who with the blessing of Gracie Sydney founder Bruno Panno was today awarded his Purple Belt in Gracie Jiu Jitsu.
A great year of competition for Brendon becoming 2006 NSW State Champion, Silver medal in the Nationals, and then another Gold in last weekends NSWBJJF State Circuit tournament.
Thanks also to our Central Coast coaches Matrat and Lucozade who have been a big influence on Brendon's development as well as Bruno who Brendon has trained with extensively.
Well done Brendon from all the team!

| NSW BJJ Federation Circuit Results
[26th November 2006]

Congratulations to Bruno Panno and the Gracie Sydney team for a great performance at today's competition. Gracie Sydney finished third overall missing out on first place by only 3 points.
As part of Gracie Sydney we had 2 representatives - State Champion and Nationals silver medallist Brendon Campbell added another gold to his collection with a submission victory in the finals, and
competing after only a couple of months training Duncan Dark had a great performance and showed his huge potential for future competitions. Well done both guys.
Thanks to all the training partners and coaches Steve, Ben, Matrat and Lucozade who helped our athletes prepare.
The next NSWBJJF competition will be the Submission Grappling (No-Gi) competition in early 2007. Students intending to compete are especially encouraged to attend friday nights no-gi training, and Luke Nutley's Saturday class which also includes No-Gi training.

A note of appreciation for 2006 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Absolute Division World Champion Prof. Xande Ribeiro who taught seminars and private lessons at our Newcastle and Central Coast Gracie Jiu Jitsu academies last week.
Thanks also to all who supported the seminar and we look forward to Xande and Saulo visiting us in 2007.
Xande fans should also keep an eye out for Luke's upcoming interview with Prof. Xande in a future edition of Blitz magazine.
After teaching in Newcastle, Xande spent the weekend teaching seminars at our West-Coast academy hosted by Taff Davies and the Beston-Gracie team.
On Wednesday Xande then taught his final NSW seminar as part of the grand opening of Prof. Bruno Panno's new full time Gracie Sydney academy in Carringbah.
Bruno's new facility is amazing and anyone who has the option to train with Bruno should definitely take advantage of that opportunity.

seminar schedule.
Prof. Xande will be teaching a seminar at the Beston-Gracie Central Coast Academy on Tuesday the 14th of November from 7:30 to 9:30
Between his seminars, Xande will be staying with Luke and Angela, and is available for private and group private lessons, by appointment.

2006 Absolute Division Mundial Champion, Prof. Xande Ribeiro will be visiting Australia in November to attend the AFBJJ Pan Pacific Championships,

A great performance by all our team, espcially Jack Kelly and Heath Mcnamus (<73Kg Blue Belt Vice Champions), Colin Enery, new purple belt Jimmy Olsen, Michael Machine who won white belt 91kg in just 2 months of training,
Craig Sav (Great perfomance), and Johnny Gannon and Buda who closed out the over 97 blue belt master division. Bruno also sends his congrats to the Newcastle & Central Coast contingent of the Gracie Sydney team for their medal haul.

We are very pleased to announce another new class on the Beston-Gracie timetable, with a new Saturday class to start in the next few weeks on the Central Coast to
be instructed by Luke "Lucozade" Nutley. This now gives our team members the opportunity to train Gracie Jiu Jitsu 7 days a week!

AFBJJ Nationals Results!

Congratulations to our team of 5 representatives Nate, Brendon, Ben, Michael, and Brian who competed yesterday at the AFBJJ Australian BJJ Championships as part of the Gracie Sydney Team who brought
home one gold, two silver, and one 3rd place - another phenominal result for our team. Also congratulations to the many other national champions coached by prof. Bruno Panno
and the Gracie Sydney team.
Thanks to the AFBJJ, Peter de Been and all the staff for making a great competition.

Luke has just returned from a week of training on the west coast where he conducted a series of workshops for our team there.
Also while in Perth Luke had the rare honour of conducting a GJJ/MMA seminar for Australia's elite Special Air Service or SAS Regiment at their
barracks near Swanbourne.

Our Sunday Muay Thai class has now been replaced with a 2 hour Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) class.
Muay Thai Champion and MMA Veteran Adam Bourke will continue to teach the Muay Thai component for the first half of the 2 hour class followed by
clinching, takedown, and groundwork techniques, drills and sparring, and conditioning training in the second hour.

MMA Results

Firstly congratulations to Aussie MMA legend Dave Frendin who fought on Friday night in QLD, taking the fight on less than one
day's notice. Dave won his fight by Judges decision - congrats dave from all your team mates and friends!
Friday night was also the date for the hugely anticipated matchup between BGJJ Muay Thai instructor Adam Bourke, and PRIDE veteran Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett.
In what can only be described as "a war", Adam & Krazy horse had an epic fight with both fighters showcasing their awesome talents. Congratulations to Krazy Horse
who won the fight by submission in the second round. Thanks to all the crowd who came up to Adam after the fight for their support.
A huge thanks to Adam for such a great fight and representing us so well - and thanks to the entire BGJJ team who all who helped Adam in his preparation, especially the BGJJ Muay Thai class,
Central Coast Purple Belts Paul Haffenden, Luke Nutley, Dave Frendin, and MMA Veteran Nathan White.
