Gracie 2005 State Champion Team!
[27th November 2005]
|
|
Another great tournament run by the NSW BJJ Federation showing how great the sport can be when egos are left at the door.
A terrific performance today by all our students who competed in the 3rd Leg of the Official NSW BJJ Federation Circuit.
This tournament was again our biggest team entered to date with 10 Beston-Gracie Jiu Jitsu representatives competing across the various age, weight, and belt divisions bringing home another team best of 6 medals.
I couldn't be prouder of all our representatives who all showed great technical jiu jitsu.
The results of this competition have confirmed a number of our students as overall champions for their respective divisions for the 2005 season,
with the official announcements to be made by the Federation in December.
Gracie Team consisting of Beston-Gracie Academies from Newcastle and the Central Coast, and Gracie Sydney, and Gracie Barra Sydney academies from Sydney was the Overall champion team for the NSW BJJ Federation State Circuit for the 2005 season!
Once again demonstrating our strong commitment to support the sport, GracieSeminars.com was an official sponsor of the final official leg of the NSW BJJ Federation State Circuit for 2005.
In more fantastic news for the team, one of our Professional Mixed Martial Arts fighters Nathan "Gringo" White won his fight by submission
in last night's QLD MMA event which should make him the number one contender to the promotions Super Heavyweight Title - awesome job Nate. Another of our Professional
Mixed Martial Arts fighters, Adam Bourke also fought on the card and I'm very proud of his perfomance too - well done Adam from all your teammates.
A great way to end the 2005 Tournament and MMA season and only a hint of what is to come for 2006. Thanks as always to those who helped in our athletes preparation and supported them on the day.
|
|
Great day for Beston-Gracie Competition Team!
[13th November 2005]
|
|
A terrific performance today by all our students who competed in the International Budo Sports National Championships.
In a clean sweep of the Adult Groundfighting Divisions, Luke "Lucozade" Nutley, Brendan Cambell, and Nathan "Gringo" White took first place in their respective divisions,
and David "Frendo" Frendin winning the open weight "King of the Mountain" Division.
In the teenage division our two Jiu Jitsu phenoms on the Central Coast, Shane "Huggy" Haffenden and Luke "Luca" Morrison shared first place
when the other competitors in their division withdrew.
Following up his win in the Heavyweight Groundfighting Division, Nathan "Gringo" White took first place in the Open Weight "Viadal" tournament,
an Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Tournament.
Congratulations to our newest National Groundfighting and Mixed Martial Arts Champions!
Thanks as always to those who helped in our athletes preparation, and especially to the senior coloured belts who were able to support and coach
our representatives on the day in my absence.
