What is Gracie Jiu Jitsu?

Gracie Jiu Jitsu, also known as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is one of the world's fastest growing martial arts. It first exploded onto the world scene in the early nineties when the Gracie family defeated all challengers from other Martial Arts styles such as Judo, Karate, Wrestling, and Kung Fu in no rules challenge matches.

From the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation:

Jiu-jitsu is the most ancient martial art and is the most complete art of self-defense. It’s origin being quite controversial, it was first attributed to China, then India, Japan, and Brazil—where it became superior to all other styles of Jiu-jitsu, making Brazil the world’s center of this precious art.

This grappling based martial arts style was designed by the legendary Gracie Family for maximum efficiency. Unlike many other martial arts, the techniques of Jiu Jitsu which rely on leverage and technique rather than strength and athleticism are effective regardless of the practitioners' physical stature.

Law Enforcement statistics show that 95% of all streetfights end up on the ground. Gracie Jiu Jitsu is the only Martial Art that effectively addresses ground grappling making it the ultimate martial art for realistic self defence.
