Chief Instructor - Luke Beston

Luke Beston is a Gracie Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under the legendary Prof. Royler Gracie.

He also holds a Black Belt in Modern Arnis, a weapons based Martial Art from the Philippines.

He was first introduced to Gracie Jiu Jitsu when Prof. Carlos Gracie Jr visited Australia in 1995. Over the next 10 years Luke travelled countless times to train at many of the world's best Gracie Jiu Jitsu academies throughout Australia, Brasil and the U.S.A.

In December 2005, Luke made Australian Martial Arts history when was awarded his Black Belt by his masters at Gracie Humaita Prof. Royler Gracie & Prof. Rolker Gracie and their chief representative in Australia, Prof. Bruno Panno making him the first ever person from New South Wales to receive a Black Belt from the Gracie family.

Prior to focusing on training the next generation of champions, Luke won a number of Grappling titles as well as being crowned the 2001 NSW Pankration Champion. As an instructor Luke has produced many Champions in the NSW BJJ Federation Circuit, one of the world's biggest Federations outside Brazil. Luke is also a coach of the 2004 Australian Nationals Champion Team, and 2005 NSW State Champion Team.

With years working in the security industry, Luke he is well experienced to teach real world self-defence.

Academy Director - Angela Gracie

Angela Gracie is the granddaughter of Prof. Carlos Gracie Sr and niece of Prof. Helio Gracie, the masterminds of Gracie Jiu Jitsu.

She is responsible for the day to day running of the academies. She is also the founder of GracieSeminars.com, the world's number 1 source for Gracie Jiu Jitsu seminars.

Instructor - Ben Thomas

Ben Thomas is a Gracie Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt.

He has been studying Jiu Jitsu since 1995. In 1999 Ben travelled with Luke to Rio de Janeiro, Brasil to train at some of the world's best academies.

A dedicated student Ben has won Jiu Jitsu Championships at the State and National level, as well as being crowned the 2001 NSW Pankration Champion.

Ben is well known for his smooth technique and abilty to explain techniques to students. With his time working in the security industry as a nightclub bouncer, Ben is well experienced to teach real world self-defence.

  • Certificate II in Security (Guarding)
  • Senior First Aid (St John Ambulance)

Instructor - Steve Williams

Steve Williams is a Gracie Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt.

A pioneer of Jiu Jitsu in N.S.W, Steve has been studying Jiu Jitsu for well over 10 years. Steve's technical and analytical approach and passion for Jiu Jitsu makes him a great asset to the team. Steve is also the driving force behind many of the team's top competitors.

Steve is also a highly demanded dog trainer and has has extensive experience training dogs for the security industry.

Assistant Kids Instructor - Karmen Gracie-Izaguirre

The great-granddaughter of Grandmaster Carlos Gracie, Karmen Izaguirre, is a Gracie Jiu Jitsu Yellow Belt under her uncle, Prof. Royler Gracie.

Karmen first began training Gracie Jiu Jitsu under her father, and Royler Gracie Black Belt Prof. Jason Izaguirre

Karmen is the only member of the legendary Gracie family to live and train in Australia, and is an assistant instructor for the Kids classes at Beston-Gracie Jiu Jitsu
